"Love the Environment, Clean the River"
Participating with the activity is very easy. Just register and go to your group and start picking up trash from the surroundings and ENJOY!
How I love joining this events together with people who cares about the nature and the place where we live in. As part of the My Share team, we also shows support in the coastal clean-up drive by Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA).
We even wore our My Share uniform to be able to show our solid support for the environment's protection and beautification.
Combing the beach area under the sun is so fun! Bringing garbage bags and filling it up with something we picked from around the area is really a big help to make Subic bay a fantastic travel place.
People gets motivated seeing others do the same thing. We come together to save the beaches and the sea that tourist who visited Olongapo or Subic bay are excited to experience. We clean them and we know that this helps in the complete experience of those who visit for a vacation.
What really makes me enjoy the day is seeing our cute kids who learns to make a way to help us and do their thing even in a very little way to help save the environment for the future.
Today I will bring you to a place where the environment is the top priority. Let's join the cleanup drive in Subic Bay, Philippines.
I went to a regular river and coastal clean-up activity that was held in Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBFZ) last November 16, 2013. It came to my knowledge that this is a kick-off event for the monthly cleanup idea of the Subic Freeport stakeholders aiming to sustain the tourist-friendly beauty and biodiversity of Subic Bay.
Luckily, I had a chance to have a photo taken at the banner in front of the stage there proudly wearing my My Share shirt. :)
According to one of the organizers, this activity is a joint project of Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), the city government of Olongapo, the Subic Bay Workforce Development Foundation, Inc. (SBWDFI), the Department of Education and other volunteer organizations in the community.
Thousands of volunteers from Zambales, Olongapo and Bataan join the initiative to clean the river and the coastal areas of Subic Bay and Olongapo City. It's hot Saturday morning but it's all worth it! :)
A Lawyer by profession and the current SBMA Labor Department Manager Severo Pastor said in his speech that we have to realize that it's not really enough to clean the beaches only on Earth Day or some special occasion but we must do it more often.
According to Atty. Pastor, they will be holding a once-a-month coastal clean up every second Saturday of the month after this event.
I think more volunteers will steer their schedules to participate with this activities. And yeah, I will be joining more often as possible! :)
This activity drew more than 2,000 participants which consist of students, company workers, government officials and employees and many community organizations of Olongapo and Subic bay. It means and shows that people truly cares about the environment. It's just that we have to create the spark to mobilize the idea. :)

So cute!!! :) I had so much fun and learning today. I feel tired but satisfied. What we did is another investment for the future of the mankind. :)
